[If Kougaiji and his associates moved in nearby, it would also be difficult, as amicable as the group tended to be. On the other hand... if Paimon dragged its teenage host along... Well. An "asshole" situation.]
[Someone would die. Not of Fun.]
Has this problematic individual been bothering you all?

[Is this what the kids these days call "trauma dump"? This isn't like when Gojyo's trashed and Hakkai knows exactly what to do, how to handle it, where the boundaries are... because there really aren't any between them, but that's beside the point.]
[Good grief.]

[I never WANT to kill people]
[Boy... he is the least equipped to handle that one. What about survival, he wants to ask? What about if there is no choice? What about if someone as absolutely, irrevocably wronged you? Or if they're threatening one of yours? Does that have any bearing on desire?]
[Then again, the man who took more than a thousand lives in one day probably has no horse in this race.]
[He thinks, bitterly, Gojyo would probably have wiser words. Of all people.]
it was only 3 im done now i can't match up
Are you at least drinking with company? At your home?
[... When in doubt, default to Mom Mode. It's all the advice he can honestly give. Isn't it?]
tsk tsk (they're beautiful)
[ He then fails to elaborate. ]
I don't want to be under that roof. There are other people on the street. They're friendly
[ And then, somehow remembering: ]
Didn't you say you want to move? What doesn't work for you?
no subject
And where might these friendly street locals be, hm?
[Well, this is familiar. This is brutally familiar - pulling a coat on. Preparing to step out the door.]
Yes, I did. It's simply too much space, really.
[It's too empty, there's too many rooms, too much silence. Empty, eternally clean pieces of furniture accusing him.]

[ Which is huge and not helpful at all. Whoops! ]
That makes sense. I had an apartment to myself when I first got here. I didn't know what to do with it. Too many years spent living in barracks and tents. I figured my best friend would show up any day to take the spare room, but he's still not here yet
My cousin is, though. She's great. We come from different points in time, so it's also kinda weird. But she's wonderful. Her name is Gabi

[Wait, wait - didn't the nice metal person say something about a "ping"? How does he do that. He can figure it out and walk at the same time.]
[My best friend... still not here yet.]
[That's a stab in the chest. Right there. Like he hadn't already whipped his head around, thinking he'd seen red hair in the crowd. Hating himself for daring to hope.]
I'll have to meet her at some point, since you speak so highly of her. However, it sounds as if you've found others to take up space in your residence for the time being.
Inconvenient sand-bullies aside.

[ And while he tries to figure that out: ]
It's my cousin who I'm living with now. But I don't want her under that roof, either. It's too dangerous
[ Ah, there it is. Location sent! … It'll be a bit of a walk. ]

[And stop by a vending machine for some water. He has a feeling this young man is not hydrating on his own.]
I can understand. It's important to protect those closest to you.

We all find ways to do what we must when it matters most.
For better or worse.

He did what he had to do. He kept moving forward.
He thought he was doing the right thing.
He forgot what the right thing was.
He still doesn't know what's right and what's wrong. He just… ]
